The tree of a western saddle is the most critical element, defining the scale and condition of the finished products. The tree establishes each the width and length of the saddle as it sits around the back again in the horse, plus the duration from the seat for your rider, width in the swells (pommel), top of cantle, and, usually, form on the horn.
